With any osteopathic treatment, first and foremost, we want to understand why you are experiencing pain, restriction or poor performance. The first consultation always consists of a fair amount of detective work, as we sift through the details of your complaint, your medical history, our active assessment, as well as passive examinations of joints, soft tissues and body systems.

Based on the evaluation an action plan is formed, and you'll be informed every step of the way. Whilst the treatment approach might be quite simple for acute injuries, often chronic aches and pains persist because there is something stopping the area from healing fully. This can be pre-existing injuries, poor function of other body systems, or restrictions in other areas of the body. Often areas of the body end up having poor fluid dynamics due to lack of movement, scar tissue or other compromise. Our job is to find out what exactly is going on for you, address it, and get you back on track with your health.

Instead of focusing on dis-ease or only honing into local structural pathology, osteopathic manual therapy treats structural and functional dysfunctions of the body by focusing on finding the health in the individual. We start from success and work our way out. Osteopathic therapists work with their hands, relieving strains and rebalancing different areas and systems of the body.

We often are congested and stuck in the places that hurt, and osteopathic treatment can improve fluid dynamics and revitalize the areas of the body that need it the most. As the mobility and circulation improve, relief from the pain follows.
